Meet Casey, who has lived with type 1 diabetes since she was four years old and is now running the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America on behalf of Joslin.

Established by Joslin patient and former Board of Trustees member Charles “Charlie” Downer, the Charles Webster Downer Professorship in Ophthalmology honors incumbent Lloyd Paul Aiello, MD, PhD, Director of the Beetham Eye Institute, and his family’s legacy of improving outcomes for those with diabetic eye disease.
