BIDMC’s leadership was delighted to host its Annual Meeting of the Boards on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on BIDMC’s progress and look to the future.
Attendees heard updates from Kevin Tabb, MD, President and CEO of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), and Peter J. Healy, President of BIDMC, who presented this year’s Daniel J. Jick Excellence in Leadership Award to Trustee Emerita Carol Fulp and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians President and CEO Alexa B. Kimball, MD, MPH. The evening also featured remarks from two talented physician leaders—Jennifer Cluett, MD, and W. Robert Yeh, MD, who highlighted the vital nature of philanthropy in their work. The audience heard a moving story from grateful patient Phil Liaboe, who was among the first to undergo a heart transplant at the BILH Heart Transplant Program at BIDMC.
Board of Trustees Chair Thomas J. DeSimone closed out the meeting with a celebratory toast to thank donors for their critical role in the Where Extraordinary Lives campaign. Philanthropy remains vital to the medical center’s success in shaping the future of medicine.
