For Frank and Deb Antin, supporting BID Needham is not only about investing in a vital community resource, but is also about supporting an organization that has always been there for the Antin family. “We try to give to institutions that touch our hearts,” says Deb. “BID Needham is meaningful to us.”

The family’s relationship with the hospital began when Frank and his first wife, Mary Beth, moved to the area four decades ago. At the time, the couple had young children and appreciated the convenience of having high-quality care available just down the road—both for routine medical treatment and in case of emergencies. Years later, the Antin children are grown and now bring their own kids to BID Needham. When Frank married Deb after Mary Beth’s passing, she, too, became a part of the BID Needham family.

Inspired by the caliber of care they and their loved ones have received, Frank and Deb have given to a number of critical priorities across the hospital, including the Lank Cancer Center and The Trotman Family Outpatient Clinical Center. Responding to the steep rise in demand for BID Needham’s services, they recently increased their support with a generous $250,000 gift toward the hospital’s historic Transforming Health Care Here Campaign, which is advancing key priorities of workforce development, access and innovation, and campus enhancements. This is the Antins’ largest contribution to date and reflects their unwavering confidence in BID Needham’s leadership and vision for the future. Frank and Deb have a keen interest in women’s health in particular and are grateful that their gift will support expanded access to high-quality care that meets the unique needs of women in the community.

Frank and Deb have long trusted the expertise of BID Needham’s medical providers, and witnessing the hospital’s clinical teams navigate the COVID-19 pandemic was especially impactful for them. They appreciated that BID Needham offered the benefits of an affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the wider Beth Israel Lahey Health system, while also maintaining a deep commitment to local residents.  “During that time, the neighborhood supported the hospital, and the hospital supported the neighborhood,” says Frank. “It’s truly a community hospital.”

For Frank, giving back to the hospital is both an expression of gratitude for the care his family has received and a meaningful investment in an essential community organization. As a current member of the Board of Advisors and former member of the Board of Trustees, he has a keen understanding of just how rapidly BID Needham has expanded. “The hospital has grown dramatically, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping,” says Frank. “I know they’ll always find a way to get things done.”

Generous donors like Frank and Deb make BID Needham’s continued growth and evolution possible. “We cannot succeed in our ambitious efforts without community support and engagement,” says John Fogarty, President of BID Needham. “We are deeply grateful for Frank and Deb’s longstanding generosity. Their partnership at this pivotal moment for the hospital is greatly appreciated.”
