What first drew you to a career in health care, and what continues to inspire you?
Health care has always been part of my life—my father was a respiratory therapist, my mother was a dietitian, and many members of my family worked in clinical roles. Early in my career, I worked on health care policy in Washington, D.C., and quickly saw how meaningful the field is from that perspective as well.
When I started working inside hospitals, I experienced firsthand the impact we have on patients and families. Hospitals are remarkable places; people turn to us in moments of vulnerability and uncertainty, and we are there to provide both care and hope. That sense of purpose continues to inspire me every day.
What attracted you to Winchester Hospital, and what has stood out to you about the community it serves?
People have a deep sense of pride when it comes to this organization. That became very clear to me early on. When I asked what it’s like to be a patient here, the response was immediate and genuine. Physicians, board members, and staff shared personal stories about their own experiences and those of their families and spoke with real confidence in the care delivered here.
Since arriving, I’ve seen that same spirit throughout the hospital and across the community. There is a shared belief that Winchester Hospital is their hospital—a place people rely on not just for high-quality care, but for peace of mind. That sense of ownership, pride, and responsibility is incredibly powerful, and it shapes how care is delivered every day. It reinforces a culture where people are deeply committed to one another and to the patients and families who walk through our doors.
From your perspective, what makes Winchester Hospital a special place for patients and families?
It comes down to trust and connection. Our physicians, nurses, and staff are caring for their neighbors—people they know and care about. Patients don’t only come here for care; they come here because they believe in the people providing it.
What are you most excited to build or advance in your role as president?
My goal is for Winchester Hospital to be the provider of choice for the communities we serve. That means continually striving to improve.
We’re focused on three priorities: creating a culture where the best people want to work, supporting physicians in delivering the highest-quality and safest care, and earning the community’s trust every day. I also see my role as supporting the people who provide care—removing barriers and helping them do their best work.
How do you see philanthropy helping accelerate what’s possible for Winchester Hospital?
Philanthropy is essential—it helps bridge the gap between what we can do today and what we aspire to do tomorrow. It allows us to move more quickly, invest in innovation, and elevate the level of care we provide.
The deep commitment of our donors stands out to me. Many of them see their support as an investment in their community and in the health of their families and neighbors. Their impact is immediate and meaningful, and we are incredibly grateful. Philanthropic supporters and volunteers are vital to continuing that legacy, helping us meet today’s needs while building for the future.
