Sally Willing Fund for Cancer Survivorship

Cancer survivors often feel at a loss with many unanswered questions as they readjust to life and a “new normal.” The Sally Willing Fund for Cancer Survivorship supports cancer patients and their friends and family members with a special focus on improving quality of life after active treatment.

Your gift to the Willing Fund supports vital cancer survivorship programs including financial counseling, nutrition, exercise and alternative therapies. The fund was established in 2016 in honor of the late Sally Willing, a Winchester Hospital volunteer for 37 years. The Richard C. Heidbreder, MD, Patient Comfort Fund

Your gift to the Richard C. Heidbreder, MD, Patient Comfort Fund will help positively affect the quality of life and dignity of our cancer patients. The fund was established in 2011 in honor of Dr. Heidbreder, who was the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology and was known for his compassion and kindness. Dr. Heidbreder expressly wanted the fund to help patients with expenses outside the standard cancer treatment.

Today, the fund is an essential resource for Winchester Hospital’s cancer patients. Your gift to the fund helps supply patients with gift cards for everyday needs, as well as helping with the cost of supportive therapies like massage, acupuncture and yoga, all provided through Winchester Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living in Woburn.
