Meet Katie Galbraith, MBA, FACHE
Inaugural Rosenberg Family President joins NEBH
Katie Galbraith joined New England Baptist Hospital in August 2025 as the inaugural Rosenberg Family President, a named position supported by philanthropy.
Katie comes to the Baptist as an accomplished health care leader. Most recently, she served as President of Main Line Health Lankenau Medical Center in Pennsylvania and previously spent 26 years in various roles at Duke University Health System in North Carolina, including nine years as President of Duke Regional Hospital.
Recently, we sat down with Katie to learn more about her background, her goals for the Baptist, and her insights on health care.
Can you share a bit about your background and what drew you to this leadership role at NEBH?
I grew up in Massachusetts and am very excited to be back leading the region’s premier orthopedic hospital and one of the top orthopedic hospitals in the country. I initially entered health care at Duke Children’s Hospital, and over time, I advanced into leadership roles and transitioned into operations after earning my MBA. After serving as President of Duke Regional Hospital for nine years, I moved to Main Line Health outside of Philadelphia, where I served as President of Lankenau Medical Center.
When the opportunity at the Baptist arose, the hospital’s reputation for excellence and world-class care drew me in. After meeting the team, I knew this is where I wanted to be. It’s an incredible honor to serve the Baptist community in this role.
What excites you most about joining the NEBH community?
I am energized and excited by the incredible staff and providers. We have an extraordinary team with deep commitment and incredible longevity. At its core, health care is people caring for people, and our team truly embodies that every day. I’m inspired by our brilliant medical staff, among the best in the country, who combine exceptional skill with genuine compassion for their patients.
Our team members and providers are why the Baptist stands at the forefront of orthopedic excellence, widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading institutions in musculoskeletal care. Our reputation for clinical innovation and patient-centered outcomes places us among the most respected names in the field. This is a place where advanced techniques, leading-edge research, and compassionate care converge. Being a part of an excellent health system like Beth Israel Lahey Health amplifies our ability to extend this expertise to more patients, strengthening our position as the destination for orthopedic and musculoskeletal services. The potential for continued growth is extraordinary, and I am incredibly excited to be part of this transformative journey.
What does it mean be the inaugural Rosenberg Family President at NEBH?
It is an extraordinary privilege to be the inaugural holder of this position—a role made possible by the remarkable generosity and foresight of the Rosenberg family. Their commitment is not only transforming care at NEBH but shaping the future of health care across the entire BILH system. We are honored to stand alongside them as partners in this bold vision.
The Rosenberg family gift is a catalyst for innovation. It empowers us to pursue initiatives that redefine what is possible for our patients and community. Representing the Rosenberg family’s dedication in this role is deeply humbling and inspiring. Their generosity is woven into the very fabric of our mission. It strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional care. Because of their leadership, we are building momentum both at NEBH and across BILH that will resonate for generations to come.
How do you see philanthropy shaping the hospital’s future?
Philanthropy is pivotal in shaping the Baptist’s future. It enables us to think bigger and achieve things that would otherwise be out of reach. Through generous support, we can advance education programs, invest in leading-edge equipment, and strengthen outreach initiatives that bring our mission to life. We have exciting opportunities to create a dedicated revision center for patients who need a second surgery following care elsewhere, and to expand our complex spine services—philanthropy makes these ideas possible.
For those who want to make a difference, your generosity matters more than you might imagine. Every gift can be tailored to align with what inspires you the most, whether that’s education, health equity, supporting our extraordinary clinicians, or investing in technology and facilities. Your investment helps us grow, innovate, and create spaces that reflect the very best in orthopedic care. Together, we can transform lives and build on the Baptist’s role as a national leader in musculoskeletal care.
As you look ahead, what is your vision for NEBH in the next 3–5 years?
Over the next three to five years, I want us to grow significantly by expanding our reach, caring for more patients and strengthening our reputation for exceptional quality, outcomes, and patient experience. We have the data to back up our excellence today, and I’d like to see that impact extend to even more people. Ultimately, my goal is for the Baptist to be known as the national leader in orthopedic care, while continuing to deliver the legendary service and outstanding results that define us.
