On June 22, 2022, nearly 300 guests joined NEBH President David Passafaro and hospital leadership at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston to celebrate the hospital’s legacy and impact for the Together Again Gala. The evening was a fabulous success and provided the perfect opportunity to recognize NEBH surgeon and Olympic gold medalist Tenley Albright, MD, with the inaugural President’s Award.

As the first American woman to win the Olympic gold medal in figure skating and the first woman on the surgical staff at NEBH, Tenley was also the first and only person who came to mind when the President’s Award was conceived.

A Tribute to Hollis Albright, MD

Tenley practiced alongside her father, Hollis Albright, MD. For more than 60 years, Hollis dedicated his life to surgery, patient care, and the students he mentored.

Remarks from the Honorable Michael R. Bloomberg

Several special guests helped to recognize Tenley, including Governor Charlie Baker and First Lady Lauren Baker, as well as former Boston Celtics player, coach, and manager M.L. Carr. The Honorable Michael R. Bloomberg shared a special message, calling attention to Tenley’s contributions as a member of the Board of Directors of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
