For Health. For Hope. For Life.

LHMC is committed to continuing its legacy of delivering excellent cancer care. The Lahey 5K provides support for holistic care and brings community members together in support of our patients.

In the Name of Nursing

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) is dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based nursing care, and no one embodied that more than the late Jean Cunningham, RN. With a transformational $10 million gift, the family of Jean Cunningham has established the Jean Cunningham Department of Nursing and provided essential resources to support continuing education programs for LHMC nurses.

A Legacy of Gratitude

Everyone who has experienced life-saving care at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is grateful for our caregivers’ expertise, compassion and skill. One second-generation Lahey patient, Windle (Win) Priem, and his wife Susan came to express their gratitude to physicians through philanthropy beginning with small gifts.

She Saved My Life

For Dr. Laura Sowerby, a generous, anonymous gift made in her honor was incredibly humbling. “Treating patients is very rewarding for me,” says Sowerby. “It is our mission at Lahey to provide the highest level of care. Through his gift, the patient is enabling us to grow in that mission, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” she says.

Grateful Couple’s Legacy Gift Benefits Lahey

Married for more than 70 years, the late Theodore “Ted” Petczo and Susanna “Sue” (DeCola) Petczo together demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center with a planned gift to the hospital’s Greatest Needs Fund.

Supporters Give Back, Tech Moves Forward

Thanks to an extraordinary gift from Sheila and Manny Landsman, Lahey will soon upgrade its building automation system—which will have a profound impact on hospital operations and the patient experience.

When Every Minute Matters

The new LHMC on-site helideck has decreased the time from arrival to care since its opening, thanks to donors’ generous support. Learn more about how the helideck helps save lives—not only in communities north of Boston, but also for patients who arrive from New Hampshire and Maine.
