On Wednesday, April 3, board members from across the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system gathered to celebrate the organization’s growth and points of pride from the past five years. Hosted by Kevin Tabb, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, BILH, and Ann-Ellen Hornidge, Chair of the Board of Trustees, BILH, the event provided an opportunity for attendees to connect with one another and look back on all that the system has achieved since it set out to transform healthcare in March 2019.
With input from leaders from across the system, Kevin and Ann-Ellen reflected on accomplishments from BILH’s early years—from working together to overcome the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic to investing in staff retention and development to re-envisioning our physical spaces in response to community needs. They also looked ahead to the exciting ways the system continues to grow and progress on the pathway to a bright future for our patients, staff, and communities.
Celebrating Five Years of BILH
At the retreat, we were delighted to share the video below, which illustrates just how far we’ve come in the past five years and the meaningful difference we’ve made in the lives of patients and families.
Local Government Leaders Thank BILH
By working together, BILH’s member organizations are improving healthcare both in their individual communities and across the Commonwealth. We were honored to hear from two members of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s Cabinet, who offered their gratitude to system staff and leadership. Please see below for a video of Lauren Jones, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, which was shared at the retreat, as well as a video of Yvonne Hao, Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development. Both Jones and Hao congratulated BILH on reaching five years as a system and expressed their excitement for BILH’s bright future.
